And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, ²³ which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.”

Ephesians 1:22, 23

What is church?  Church is the body of Christ.  Jesus lives in each of us as Christians, and all Christians in the world make up the universal body of Christ.

Church can be a tremendous help to you as you grow in your Christian life.  When you go to church you can worship God and give Him praise.  Other Christians can encourage you; can teach you; can counsel you; and can be used of God in your life.  At the same time you can be used of God to bless others in your church.  It is important to get together with other Christians when you can.
